Hopefully someone can help me! (And sorry if this is a repost - i can't
find the info I need)

Basically, I have been running Logic Pro 6.4.3 with ProTools 6.4.1 on my Mix
Plus system for years now using the ESB. I have had the usual problems
before but this one has puzzled me.

If I open Pro Tools and play through that a clear signal leaves the app,
goes into the 888/24 and is then fed to the mixer. All good.

For some reason though, when i now open Logic and try to play anything on
the DAE tracks the signal is sent to the 888/24 (I can see it on the channel
meters) but nothing will play out of the 888 and into the mixer. If I were
to disable the DAE drivers, however, and use the digidesign core audio
driver on the native side of things, signal will pass through fine unlike on
DAE.

Someone has told me that this is probably a clocking issue or something
because it reaches the interface but can't pass the DA converters. I can't
for the life of me work it out or work out how to resolve this.

In desperation I backed everything up and did a fresh install of everything
thinking that at the very least this would then reset all preferences etc.
but the problem remains, which kinda suggests to me that this is a hardware
configuration problem.

If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it and i'm tearing my hair
out...

Exact setup:

G4 1.25ghz dual
Pro Tools Mix plus
888/24 interface
Pro Tools 6.4.1
Logic Pro 6.4.3

Hi

I have a similar setup and ditched the coreaudio driver when it was apparent
it had some bugs and I could use my videocard¹s audio outs for QT and
iTunes. I am using OS 10.3.4 and QT 6.x (last release before 7) as digi
recommends. I do not use esb but instead use a motu 828 mk II for coreaudio
looped back into my adat bridge. The first thing I can think of is what
resolution are you working at? I have never got logic to run 48kz with a
mix system and have a similar problem when trying to open 48k sessions. I
have also experienced this when I had 10.3.9 or qt 7 installed. And also
experienced this in sessions with rex2 files present but not the correct rex
driver installed. Be sure you are on 10.3.4 and have the pro apps support
package for that OS installed. And double check your outputs and ESB
assignments. I had a dead studio the other day and after about an hour of
testing crawled behind the rack to see one of my dsub snakes had popped out
of the back of my apogee, thanks to my studio cat! Sometimes its the
littlesi things.

Good luck!
